The battle was heated as neither of the queens allowed the other to have even the slightest of advantages. Danika; the Queen of Aces kept pushing Snow, the Queen of Ice with Soldier; the sword that her brother Yzak had lent her for this battle. Snow came towards Danika with her Ice Blade in hand trying to find even the smallest of opening to end her life. To Snow's misfortune Danika quickly counter-attacked her, making her lose not only her balance but also her blade. The Queen of Aces didn't hesitate as she dropped Soldier and in a matter of seconds she was sitting on top of Snow, pointing Lancelot; her gun under her chin.

"It's over Snow, I won this war"

"Come on little Danika" Snow smiled as she looked at Danika "I DARE YOU! FIRE THE GUN, END MY LIFE!!! I KNOW I WON'T BE THE LAST ONE TO DIE AT THE END OF YOUR PRECIOUS LANCELOT!!!!"

The silence in the room was deafening, the air was standing still, and time seemed to have stopped ticking away inside of the chamber where the two queens had their final battle. Danika looked deep within Snow's crystalline blue eyes trying to find one final answer: Did she really want to die like this?

"I am sorry" A single tear felt from her cheek landing on Lancelot "I wasn't able to save you Snow" Danika's soft whisper was heard inside the chamber right before a shot from the Lancelot was heard.

"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" Danika screamed as she quickly woke up, sitting up on her bed, sweating from relieving the memories of her fight against Snow.

Holding her legs close to her chest, Danika remained immobile as she tried her hardest to fight back the tears that were threatening to fall. She slowly began to hum a lullaby her step-mother would sing to her when she was younger and the wind all around her began to gently blow trying to calm her down.

"It was nothing but a dream, it was a dream, she isn't here anymore, and there isn't anyone that can harm me again" Danika began to repeat to herself as she slowly rocked back and forward in the middle of her bed.

Danika wiped away the couple of tears that feel from her eyes as she sat in the edge of her bed next to her side table where Lancelot rested. Carefully taking it into her hands, Danika held Lancelot close almost like if it was a person.

"Just like you promised to protect me the day I received you" Danika said to Lancelot as she slowly placed it on her lap "I make this promise to you, I will never again fire you, unless my life is on the line" Tears began to hit the barrel of Lancelot "Never again, not again my dear Lancelot…okay no more tears from me, I can't torment myself with this any longer right, not anymore…right?"

A weak and gentle smile appeared on Danika's lips as she stood up and walked to her window looking out to her private garden. One that she only visited with Yzak and whenever she had a problem she couldn't solve.

"A walk in the Artemis Garden" Danika looked outside the window then at Lancelot "I don't see why not, that could actually help me a little" Danika smiled as she walked towards her closet and took out her battle uniform, changed as quickly as she could and strapped Lancelot's holster to her waist.

Danika walked outside her bedroom into the hallway, stopping a couple of steps in front of Yzak's door. "Should I? I don't think that Yzak would mind if I took him out?" Danika's smile widened a little as she silently made her way inside his bedroom.

Yzak was laying comfortably in his bed, so deep in sleep that he didn't even notice that Danika had walked in. Tenderness was visible in her eyes, as she looked at her brother's sleeping form and walked towards the side of his bed. Resting against his side table was his precious sword Soldier; one that Danika had been allowed to use during many occasions.

She took a paper from his desk and wrote a small note, knowing how it was that he was going to react if he woke up and saw that his pride and joy was gone.

Hey Yzak:
Don't freak out please…
I have Soldier, and I am either in my room asleep or in Artemis
Love you <3

One more smile appeared on Danika's lips as she took Soldier and strapped its sheath to part of the belt belonging to her dress. Before making her way to the outside of the room she kissed his forehead.

"I'll see you soon Yzak"

Walking out to her private garden at night was one of the most pleasant things that Danika could do when she was restless, and needed to calm down. The sound of the water flowing down from the fountain sitting in the middle of the garden was soothing, as were the scents of the roses and lilies that were planted all over the garden. The full moon could be seen high above as it filled the garden with shinning light, giving every part of it a special glow to it. The wind had calmed down, trying to help Danika relax as she headed to the fountain and took a seat, mindlessly playing with the water.

"It has been a while since I last came here" a gentle sigh escaped her lips as she listened to the wind and the water as they combined to make a melody for her ears.

Danika began to hum the lullaby again, closing her eyes to enjoy the garden even more. Finally she slowly began to relax and though about heading back to her room to sleep until the sunlight of the next day arrived when the wind blew harder, warning her someone was inside her Artemis Garden.

"I see that you enjoy being out alone"

She quickly stood up and grabbed the handle of Soldier; ready to attack whoever it was that was near her if needed. Standing in front of her was a mysterious lady; she had long dark hair and about 6'4" tall. She was wearing a dress that looked a lot like what royalty would wear when there was a ball or an event of that importance.

"Rest easy young queen, I am not here to harm you" the lady spoke with elegance "but rather to ask for your help"

"Lady Ink, Guardian of the Book of stories, isn't it?" Danika said as she let go of Soldier and letting her guard drop.

"Yes that is correct, your highness the Queen of Aces, Danika Casseopeia" Lady Ink spoke as she took a couple of steps toward Danika "and mind telling me how is it that such a young and gentle soul knows my name and what I am even before we have even intoduced each other?"

"My mother, Gaia the elemental goddess told me to expect a visit from one of the Guardians of the Book of Stories" Danika smiled at Lady Ink "It was either your brother Mudd or yourself, I just didn't expect the visit to be so soon, so how is it that I may help you Lady Ink"

"Young Queen, as your world and your story are yet to be affected, you may have not noticed that The Book of Stories has begun to un-write itself, and there are only a selected few that are allowed to enter the book and undo the damage it has done to itself, something as myself as a guardian cannot do, for I am not allowed to enter the book. That is why I came here to ask for your help" Lady Ink took another step forward, standing right in front of Danika "As you and I stand here speaking, all the stories of the world are slowly vanishing and I am here to ask you, if you are willing the enter the Book of Stories and help me save the stories within the book"

"Of course I am willing" A smile appeared on Danika's face as she accepted to aid Lady Ink "Like I said earlier my mother had already told me about this, and saying no would be going against a future that has been set on stone"

"I am in debt with you, Queen of Aces, here is something to aid you in your journey inside the book" Lady Ink took out a small figure and handed it to Danika "It is called a…"

"A square construct" Danika interrupted, as she examined the gift Lady Ink had just granted her, looking up and smiling again "Sorry I didn't mean to be rude when I interrupted, it is just after talking to my mother the only detail that I do not know about this journey to come, is how it is going to start"

"That you need not to worry about young Queen, you shall not be in harm's way unless you choice to go there on your own" Lady Ink spoke as she turned her back to Danika and used a Construct that opened up something that looked like a portal "Tell me young Queen where is it that you would want to start your journey in"

"Somewhere peaceful, where I can think about what it is that I will do next, somewhere like" Danika looked around and smiled "this garden, the one my brother made for me so many years ago."

"And so it will be, all you have to do is walk inside this portal, when you wake from your slumber you will be within the pages of the Book of Stories"

Danika sighed as she began walking towards the portal that Lady Ink had opened up for her, preparing herself for whatever it was to come within the next couple of days, months or even years. That's when she felt it, the wind around her was stronger than usual, and the water fountain wasn't as soothing as it had been when she arrived. Lady Ink noticed the hesitation in Danika's body as she was about to enter the portal.

"Is there something bothering you young queen?" Lady Ink spoke trying to figure out why she was hesitating when a couple of minutes before she was confident in going on the journey.

"No" Danika turned around as she wiped a tear away "It's just I was almost forgetting to say good-bye, wasn't I Yzak?"

Looking up towards the window of her room, making eye contact with the place where her brother Yzak was standing looking down at her. A weak smile visible on his face, trying to hide the pain of knowing he was losing his sister. Danika weakly smiled back at him, holding back the tears, she had only been with him for two years and now she was leaving him again. Even if she didn't want to she knew that she had to leave.

"Take care my little Danika" Yzak mouthed to Danika all the way from her room

"You too, I'll miss you"

"So will I"

"I love you Yzak, always will"
Danika said before turning around and giving Yzak her back, letting the tears slowly fall down to the ground "I don't know when I will be back, but once I do, I want to see you happy, not because I am back, but because you found your happiness while I was away"

Danika wiped her tears away and straightened herself up once more, not letting anymore tears fall down, so that Yzak couldn't see the pain she was holding in. Small steps at a time Danika stood in front of the portal, not even glancing once behind she stepped in.

"I will fix this Lady Ink, count of it" she managed to say right before she found herslf in a sea of darkness that slowly made her lose her consciousness.

Yzak stood motionless as he saw the portal that his sister had disappeared into vanish as rapidly as she had a couple of seconds ago. Deeply sighing, knowing he would have to tell their parents what had happened and get used to not hearing her laughter all over the castle, Yzak began to walk towards his room.

"If you wish, I could send you where she chose to go, for you are also one of the few that are allowed within the pages of the Book of Stories" Lady Ink spoke from inside the room, starling Yzak, who immediately dropped his guard once he recognized her.

"That's alright, I never planned to go with her either way" Yzak said as he looked once more outside to the garden where he last saw her "I know she is strong enough and that she can manage without me, so I am sorry, she might have said yes, but my answer is no"

"As you wish young King of Spades" Lady Ink spoke as she too vanished from Danika's room leaving Yzak alone with his thoughts.

"Just come back to me Danika" Yzak said as he began to walk towards his parents room, for the sun was rising at the edge of the garden, announcing the arrival of a new day, and a new life, for him, his mother and father, but most importantly for his sister.
